CORRECTION: SB232, extending postpartum care from 60 days to 12 months, was sponsored by Senate Majority Leader Nicole Cannizzaro. Assemblywoman Michelle Gorelow fought for this change in several sessions and co-sponsored the legislation. During the Welfare and Equity overview it was stated that a bill ending interrogations of minors (AB193) did not pass. This is incorrect. The bills did pass and the information is accurate in our legislative report. The bill our speaker meant to refer to was AB170 which would have addressed a loophole in a law intended to end marijuana status offenses for minors.
