When you visit CAA we, we collect your IP address and standard web log information, such as your browser type and the pages you accessed on our website.
When you set up a donation Web page, we require the following information:
Personal data: – name, address, phone, email
Financial information – account information necessary to provide payments
Personal information you voluntarily disclose to CAA, either online or via e-mail sent to CAA through the Web site, is added to the relevant CAA database to enable processing of the order or registration, to update our member and user databases, and/or to enable us to make an appropriate response.
We may collection additional information for security purposes, or through efforts to survey users to improve CAANV.org
Cookies are data files placed on our computer that enable Web sites to track how they are used. Cookies are also sent to users when they log-in to their accounts so that passwords are not required to visit multiple pages. Once you log-out or close your Internet browser cookies expire. Users may decline cookies; however doing so may impede site usage.
PROTECTING PERSONAL INFORMATION
We store and process your personal information on our computers in the US, and we protect it by maintaining physical, electronic and procedural safeguards in compliance with applicable US federal and state regulations. We use computer safeguards such as firewalls and data encryption, we enforce physical access controls to our buildings and files, and we authorize access to personal information only for those employees who require it to fulfill their job responsibilities.
This information we store is usually the name, email and/or physical address, or topic/cause of interest. CAA may send emails or other communications to individuals based on the information voluntarily submitted to CAA. CAA does not rent or sell email addresses submitted to us. CAA will not otherwise disclose its member or customer or donor information to the government or other third parties unless required by law.
USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
CAA collects personal information from users to improve the Web site, along with these other goals:
- provide requested services and customer support
- prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities, and enforce terms and conditions
- process transactions and send notices about your transactions
- resolve disputes, collect fees, and troubleshoot problems
- conduct site metric analysis to improve provided services and functionality
- correspond with users to keep them up-to-date about site activities and promotions
CAA may share your information with outside parties for use by approved contractors; (fraud prevention, bill collection, marketing, technology services) and to major credit bureaus to report outstanding negative balance accounts, and other third parties with your consent or direction.
We may also share your information with law enforcement agencies, government official and other third parties when we are compelled to do so by a subpoena, court order or similar legal procedure, or should we believe in good faith that the disclosure of personal information is necessary to prevent physical harm or financial loss, to report suspected illegal activity, or to investigate violations of our terms and conditions agreement.
CAA will not sell or rent any of your personal information to third parties in the normal course of doing business and only shares your personal information with third parties as described in this policy.
